This app is developed and operated by Swift Guild ("we", "our", or "the developer").
All food logs, macro tracking data, preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device.
If iCloud Sync is enabled, data is stored securely in your private iCloud account. This data is not accessible to the developer.
If you grant permission, the app may read from and/or write to Apple Health (HealthKit). Health data is used solely to provide app functionality and is never sold, shared for advertising, or transmitted to external servers. It is never sent to the AI providers described in section 5.
The app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (both provided by Google) to collect anonymous usage and stability information — such as which features are used, how far you get through setup, app performance, and crash reports.
This does not include your food logs, your weight and measurements, or the contents of anything you scan or type. It records the kind of action taken — for example that a barcode was scanned, or that a food was logged from search — not what the food was. Where a figure is recorded it is a count, such as the length of a search term rather than the term itself.
We do not collect your name, email address, or any identifier that identifies you personally, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Most searches are answered by the food database built into the app and send nothing anywhere.
When a search or a barcode scan needs more, the app sends your search text — or the barcode you scanned — to Open Food Facts and to the USDA FoodData Central database. Neither receives anything else about you. These services may process technical data such as IP addresses as part of standard internet communication.
The app's AI features — scanning a nutrition label, photographing a meal, and describing food in words — send what you scan or write to third-party AI providers so that it can be identified.
Who receives it. Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini). We use paid API accounts with both, under terms that do not permit your content to be used to train their models.
What is sent. The photograph you take, or the text you type. Nothing else.
Your voice is not sent. When you log food by speaking, your device converts your speech to text before anything leaves it. No audio recording is transmitted to us or to any AI provider. Speech recognition itself is performed by Apple and is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
What is never sent. Your weight, body measurements, goals, food log, and Apple Health data are never sent to an AI provider.
These features are optional and require your permission. The app asks before the first time it sends anything, explains what will be sent, and does not send anything unless you agree. You can withdraw permission at any time in Profile → Privacy, which disables the AI features. Everything else in the app — logging, your food database, meals, and barcode scanning — continues to work without them.
We do not store your photographs or descriptions on any server we operate.
Swift Guild does not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
The third parties named in this policy — Anthropic, Google, Open Food Facts, and USDA FoodData Central — receive only what is described in the sections above, and only for the purpose described there. Each provides protection of that data equal to or greater than that stated in this policy, under the terms we hold with them.
Your food log, weight, and measurements live on your device and, if you enable iCloud Sync, in your own private iCloud account. We hold no copy and cannot read them.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is no account for us to delete. If you have a question about data held by any third party named here, you may contact them directly or write to us at the address below.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above. The current version is always available at this address and from within the app in Profile → Privacy.
